The inaugural shipment marks the beginning of a large-scale strategic export initiative, reinforcing BSEZ’s vision of fostering high-value industrial growth and positioning Bangladesh as an integral part of global manufacturing and supply chains.
Singer Bangladesh’s Wire Harness Export Project, the plant is set to support 14 global production facilities within Beko’s network, export to 5 international markets, and generate 1,000 new employment opportunities by the end of 2026.
The launch event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Mr. Saleh Ahmed, Additional Secretary, Executive Member (Investment Promotion), BEZA; Mr. Mustafizur Rahman, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce; Mr. MHM Fairoz, Managing Director and CEO of Singer Bangladesh; Mr. Hakan Altınışık, Factory Director; and senior members of the Singer Bangladesh leadership team. Also in attendance were Mr. Taro Kawachi, Managing Director of BSEZ, along with the full BSEZ team.
The plant-Singer Bangladesh Limited, The 1st Tenant in Bangladesh SEZ Ltd., currently manufactures refrigerators, televisions, air conditioners, and washing machines, and has now expanded its portfolio to include wire harness systems. Over 90% of its products are produced locally, reflecting a strong commitment to domestic manufacturing. The facility aims not only to serve the Bangladeshi market but also to position the country as a regional hub for consumer durables in the medium to long term. Additionally, it is focused on developing a robust local supplier ecosystem to reduce the sector’s reliance on imports.
