On September 12, Dr. Md. Sarwar Bari, Chairman of BEZA, visited BSEZ, where he conducted a comprehensive inspection of several key areas, including the Singer factory, tenant company plots, Phase 2A construction site, and the BSEZ server room. Following the inspection, a strategic meeting took place, during which various discussions were held, focusing on concrete initiatives to further support the operations of tenant companies.
BSEZ is a G2G (government-to-government) project, jointly funded by the Government of Bangladesh (BEZA) and the Government of Japan (JICA). Currently, eight companies have secured tenancy, with one already operational, another set to commence operations in early 2025, and six others in the preparation stages for construction. Additionally, around 40 companies have expressed interest in establishing operations within the zone.
BSEZ remains committed to supporting the entry of foreign businesses, especially Japanese enterprises, into Bangladesh and ensuring stable, sustainable operations for its tenant companies, in close collaboration with both governments.
